NEMA board tours Eastern region
The NEMA Board of Management last week visited rehabilitated sites in Eastern Region. The visit to the sites mission was to check on the progress and on firm proper utilization of funds which are meant for this exercise. Rehabilitation of degraded sites is one of the statutory requirements of NEMA as provided for in EMCA (1999).

President launches Green schools
Interventions aimed at addressing rampant forest destruction have been upped with the launch of ‘Green Schools’ in Nyandarua County.
Speaking during the event which was held Michinda Primary School over the weekend,President Uhuru Kenyatta, who presided over the launch, said the interventions, which are spearheaded by the government, include the creation and strengthening of forest conservation committees and community forest associations to instil a sense of ownership in communities.
