The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) is established under the Environmental Management and Coordination Act (EMCA) No. 8 of 1999, as the Principal Instrument of Government in the implementation of all policies relating to the environment. The Authority invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the following vacant positions;
1. ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY II – GRADE E11 (3 POSTS)
An Officer at this level will be responsible to the administrative officer in area of deployment and may be deployed to work for more than one Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific Duties at this level will include but not limited to;
(i) Typewriting from drafts and memorandums
(ii) Checking typewritten work for corrections and paper layout
(iii) Processing data
(iv) Operating Office equipment
(v) Handling telephone calls and appointments
(vi) Ensuring security of office equipment and documents and records
(vii) Attending visitors/ clients
(viii) Undertaking routine secretarial work and office duties including filing, reception and dispatch of mails
Requirement for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
(i) Kenya certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- (minus) with at least C (plain) in English Language or its equivalent from recognized institution.
(ii) Passed in the following subjects offered by Kenya National Examination Council:
• Type writing stage II (40 wpm)/ computerized document processing
• Business English II / Communications
• Office practice I
• Secretarial duties II
• Commerce and
• A certificate of computer proficiency from a recognized institution.
Terms of Service
The successful candidates will be appointed on a three (3) years renewable contract.
