Compliance Promotion

NEMA through the Minister or Environment and Mineral Resources has gazetted several regulations to operationalise EMCA (1999). These regulations provide specific activities to be undertaken to help developers to protect the environment as they carry out their activities. NEMA Compliance Promotion Centre undertakes to improve capacity for the developers and lead agencies to assist them to make informed investment and environmental protection decisions.

The training workshops usually last between 2 days and 3 weeks. The workshops provide proponents with updated knowledge and skills on new requirements by NEMA to ensure clean and healthy environment. The training sessions is done using a problem solving and critical approach and incorporates field visits to establishments that demonstrate best environmental practices.
