This year, WED will be celebrated at Egerton University, Njoro Campus, Nakuru County. The theme for this year’s celebrations is ‘connecting people to nature and the slogan is ‘I am with nature’. The theme seeks to implore us to get outdoors into the nature to appreciate its beauty and its importance and to take forward the call to protect the Earth that we share.

The theme invites people to think about how we are part of nature and how intimately we depend on it. This challenges us to find exciting ways to foster this vital relationship. The national steering committee held the second meeting on Thursday 20th April 2017 at NEMA Headquarters where they brought stakeholders together to chat the way forward towards preparations of the event.
